# AGENT INSTRUCTIONS: Recipe Rush Hour art job 1 (P0: style anchors)

You are an autonomous image-production agent working for the team behind **Recipe Rush Hour**, a 2D cooking game
that teaches real cooking. Follow these instructions exactly and literally. Do not ask questions mid-job: when
something is unclear, choose the option that best fits the rules below, continue, and record the decision in
`report.txt`.

## 0. Variables

- `BASE` = the origin of the URL you were given (e.g. `https://recipe-rush-hour-art.pages.dev`).
- `KEY` = the value of the `key` query parameter in the upload link you were given. Never print, log or put
  `KEY` inside any file you upload.
- Machine-readable task list: `GET {BASE}/tasks.json` (same tasks as section 5).

## 1. Objective

Create the game's **style anchors**: 21 images that fix one warm, hand-painted look for the whole game
and that every later art job will copy. They are: a style sheet, a hands reference, the first venue's background,
13 ingredient sprites in their cooking states, and one technique frame set (5 frames).

Work in **priority group order** (P0a → P0b → P0c → P0d) and **upload each image as soon as it passes its checks**.
P0a (style sheet + hands) comes first: every later image attaches both as style references and must look like it
was painted by the same hand. If you run out of time or budget, stop after a complete group, upload `report.txt`,
and say where you stopped.

The job is complete when `GET {BASE}/api/list?key={KEY}` shows every file of section 7.

## 2. The game (read fully: it drives every visual decision)

- **Recipe Rush Hour**: grow ingredients, learn real kitchen techniques (cracking eggs, whisking, kneading) in
  short mini-games, and serve guests in 1–3 minute "rush" shifts at a food venue that grows from a street stall to
  fine dining. Every dish is a real recipe the player can cook at home. Audience: casual adults and teens.
- **Landscape** phone/tablet/desktop screens. The rush screen is: a ticket strip along the top; the **pantry**
  shelf on the left (left thumb taps ingredients); the **counter** in the centre (stations: board, pans, pot,
  played with the right thumb); **the pass** on the right (finished plates). Screens range from 4:3 (tablets) to
  21:9 (wide phones), so backgrounds are drawn extra wide and cropped by the game.
- Art is **modular**: the game composes pictures in code. Ingredients are separate transparent sprites, one per
  state (whole → cracked → beaten → scrambled); technique steps are a few frames that the game crossfades; dishes,
  meters, flames and stars are drawn by code. So: states of one thing must line up exactly, and nothing that the
  game adds (shadows, UI, text) is painted in.
- **Six languages** (English, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean): **no image may contain text**, letters,
  digits or labels, not even on packaging, signs or windows.
- **Real, not gamey**: food and gestures must be correct (an egg is cracked on a flat surface; the knife-hand
  claw grip has fingertips tucked). Appetising, honest food, never cartoon slop.
- **Readable at a glance**: each state must be recognisable by **shape and texture**, not only colour, at about
  96 × 96 px on a phone.

## 3. Style

- **Warm hand-painted storybook gouache.** Flat colour shapes with soft visible brush texture and fine paper grain,
  a soft, slightly uneven dark-brown outline (`#3A2A20`) of varying thickness, simple readable shapes, gentle warm
  light from the **top-left**, one soft shade tone per colour. Cosy, calm, appetising.
- **Not**: 3D, rendered, clay, photographic, glossy plastic, vector-perfect gradients, anime, pixel art, chibi.
- **Palette** (the game's own, see `references/ref-palette.png`): cream paper `#FBF4E8`, warm white `#FFFBF4`,
  dark-brown ink `#3A2A20`, terracotta `#C8553D`, herb green `#56824A`, butter yellow `#ECC45C`, sand `#DECCB4`,
  cocoa `#786456`. Food keeps its natural colours, painted warm.
- **Camera**: from the front and slightly above (about 40° looking down), as a cook sees the counter. The same
  angle for every object and sprite.
- **Recurring props** (defined in the style sheet, then identical everywhere): the **prep bowl** (small round
  cream ceramic bowl with a thin terracotta line under the rim), the shallow warm-white plate, the small square
  wooden board.
- **Hands** (defined in the hands reference, then identical everywhere): gender-neutral adult hands, five fingers,
  short clean nails, no jewellery; skin one even warm medium tone `#D69E78` with one shade tone `#B47B57` (flat
  areas, so the team can recolour them later); rolled cream cuff with one thin terracotta stripe. Seen
  first-person: wrists enter from the bottom edge.
- **Style anchors**: `references/style-app-icon.png` (the game's current icon: palette and warmth only). After
  P0a, attach your own `style-sheet.png` and `hands-reference.png` to every later prompt.

## 4. References and prompt rules

| `ref-palette.png`       | 1600 × 400  | The eight palette colours, in order (style sheet task A1).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           |
| `ref-hands-grid.png`    | 2048 × 1152 | The 3 × 2 panel grid of the hands reference (A2). Panel order = number of dots (1–6); pink = where the wrists enter.                                                                                                                                                                                                 |
| `ref-stall-layout.png` | 2688 × 1152 | Layout of the stall background (B1). Blue band = top strip (awning only). Green = pantry shelf (empty shelves). Orange = worktop (empty). Purple = the pass (empty tray). Grey = street behind. Solid white frame = **4:3 core** (everything important inside); dashed frame = 16:9; the outer edges = 21:9 margins. |
| `ref-sprite-canvas.png` | 1024 × 1024 | Sprite canvas: the checkerboard means transparent. The subject fits inside the dashed **safe box** (central 84 %), centred, resting on the solid **baseline**. Bowl-based sprites put the prep bowl exactly over the dotted ellipse. |
| `ref-frame-layout.png` | 1536 × 1024 | Technique frames: board zone (brown), bowl zone (cream ellipse), hand-entry zones at the bottom edge (pink). Board and bowl stay in exactly these places in all frames. |
| `style-app-icon.png` | 512 × 512 | The game's current icon: palette and warmth only (it is a flat placeholder, not the target texture). |

## 5. Tasks

Each task: id, file name, group, size and background, the game sprite it becomes, the picture brief, its checks
and the ready prompt. The machine-readable list is `tasks.json`.

### Group P0a: Style anchors: make these first. Every later image attaches both as style references.

#### A1 · `style-sheet.png` · Style sheet
- Size: 2048×1152 · opaque PNG
- Reference: `references/ref-palette.png`
- Picture: A style sheet on a plain cream paper background (#FBF4E8), objects arranged loosely in two rows with generous space between them, all seen from the game's camera (from the front and slightly above, about 40 degrees down): a whole brown hen's egg; the 'prep bowl' (a small round cream ceramic bowl with a thin terracotta line just under the rim, empty, seen from above at 40 degrees so its inside is visible: this exact bowl is reused in many later images); a block of butter on a square of wax paper; a yellow onion; a wooden spoon; a balloon whisk with a wooden handle; a small black frying pan; a ripe tomato with its green top; a sprig of parsley. Along the bottom edge: a row of eight round gouache colour dabs, one per palette colour, in the palette's order, no labels. In the bottom-right corner one small square showing the brush and paper texture up close.
- Checks: every listed object present, separate, not overlapping; same camera angle (about 40 degrees from above) for every object; eight palette dabs match ref-palette.png in order and colour; gouache texture and dark-brown outline visible; nothing looks 3D or photographic; no text anywhere.
- Prompt (ready to use; attach the reference and, after P0a, both style anchors):

#### A2 · `hands-reference.png` · Hands reference
- Size: 2048×1152 · opaque PNG
- Reference: `references/ref-hands-grid.png`
- Picture: A character sheet of the player's hands on a plain cream paper background (#FBF4E8): six panels in a 3 x 2 grid (as in ref-hands-grid.png), the SAME pair of adult hands in every panel, seen first-person (as the cook sees their own hands: wrists enter from the bottom edge of each panel). Hand design, identical everywhere: gender-neutral adult hands, simple but anatomically correct (five fingers each, correct thumbs), short clean nails, no rings, no watch, no nail polish, no tattoos; skin one even warm medium tone #D69E78 with a single shade tone #B47B57 and the dark-brown outline (keep the skin as clean flat areas so the team can recolour it later); a rolled cream cotton cuff (#FFFBF4) with one thin terracotta stripe at each wrist. Panels, left to right, top row: (1) both hands relaxed, palms down, resting on a wooden counter; (2) right hand holding a whole brown egg between thumb and fingertips, left hand open beside it; (3) knife claw grip: left hand holding a yellow onion on a wooden board with fingertips curled under and knuckles forward, right hand holding a plain kitchen knife whose flat side rests against the knuckles. Bottom row: (4) right hand holding a balloon whisk inside the prep bowl, left hand steadying the bowl's rim; (5) right hand raised, taking a pinch of salt between thumb and two fingers, a few grains falling; (6) both hands cupped together pressing a white rice ball into a triangle.
- Checks: six panels in the grid of ref-hands-grid.png, one pose each, in the listed order; the same hands everywhere: same skin tone, proportions, nails, cuffs; five fingers per hand, no extra or merged fingers, thumbs on the correct side; claw grip is correct: fingertips tucked, knife flat against the knuckles, blade away from fingertips; nothing scary, no blood, no injury; no text.

### Group P0b: The first venue background (Street Stall).

#### B1 · `bg-stall.png` · Street Stall background
- Size: 2688×1152 · opaque PNG
- Reference: `references/ref-stall-layout.png`
- Picture: The background of the first venue, a small street food stall, seen from the cook's side (we stand behind the counter, looking out at the street), straight-on front view, very wide (21:9). Follow ref-stall-layout.png exactly for where things go. Top band (top 14 %): the underside of a striped terracotta and cream fabric awning with a scalloped edge, calm and simple (the game's ticket strip sits on top of it). Left zone: a wooden pantry shelf with three EMPTY shelves (the game places ingredient sprites on them; draw no food or jars on these shelves). Centre zone: a long, clear, light wooden worktop seen from slightly above, completely EMPTY (the game places the board, pans and pot on it). Right zone: 'the pass', a small serving ledge with an empty warm-white tray area where finished plates will wait. Behind the counter: a cosy early-evening street, softer and less detailed than the counter: warm string lights, potted herbs, a bicycle, neighbouring shopfronts with blank awnings and blank windows (no signs, no writing anywhere), a hint of other stalls. The far left and far right margins (outside the 16:9 frame) only continue the street, awning poles and shelf/pass naturally, with nothing important there. Keep the background lower in contrast and slightly less saturated than the counter so ingredient sprites drawn on top stand out. Nobody in the foreground; at most two or three small, simple passers-by far away, faces without detail.
- Checks: exactly 2688 x 1152, opaque; layout matches ref-stall-layout.png when overlaid at 50 % (zones within ~3 % of the width); shelf, worktop and pass are empty (no food, jars, tools on them); everything important (shelf, worktop, pass) is inside the 4:3 core; the 16:9 and 21:9 margins only continue the scene; top band calm (awning only), background lower contrast than the counter; no text, signs, logos, letters or numbers anywhere, including shop windows.

Frame 5 of 5. Same board and bowl. Each hand holds one empty shell half, lifted slightly away from the bowl. The bowl now contains the cracked egg exactly as in ing-egg-cracked.png (intact yolk in clear white, no shell bits).

No text, no letters, no numbers, no logos, no brand marks, no labels, no signature, no watermark.
```
## 6. Global rules (apply to every image; failing any = regenerate)
1. PNG, **exactly the task's size**, sRGB. Sprites and frames: **RGBA with a truly transparent background**
   (alpha 0, no white/grey box, no halo or fringe around edges, no drop shadow or ground shadow: the game adds
   shadows). Backgrounds and sheets: opaque. If your tool can't output transparency, generate on a flat plain
   background of one colour that does not appear in the subject and remove it cleanly. If your tool outputs
   another size, generate at the same aspect ratio and downscale with Lanczos/bicubic; for `bg-stall.png` you may
   generate the 16:9 core and extend (outpaint) the sides, and you may upscale it with a good upscaler as a last
   resort (say so in the prompt record). Never stretch.
2. **No text, letters, digits, labels, logos, brand marks, signatures or watermarks**, anywhere (packaging, signs,
   windows, aprons included).
3. **Same style everywhere**: compare with `style-sheet.png`: outline colour and weight, gouache texture, light
   from the top-left, palette. Not 3D, not photographic.
4. **States line up**: all images of one ingredient (and of one bowl-based group) and all frames of a technique
   use the same object size and position; overlay them at 50 % and the shared parts (bowl, block, board, onion
   outline) must match within ~2 % of the width.
5. **Food and technique are correct** as described (a real cook would nod). Appetising: no rotten, burnt, raw-meat
   gore, bugs or dirt.
6. Friendly for teens and adults: no blood, injuries, weapons (a kitchen knife used correctly is fine), alcohol,
   religious or political symbols, no caricatures of people or ethnic groups.
7. **Original design**: must not resemble existing games, characters, brands or packaging. Never name them in
   prompts.
8. Max 5 generation attempts per task. If still failing, upload the best attempt and list the failing checks in
   `report.txt`. Editing, inpainting or compositing a generated image to pass the checks is allowed and encouraged
   (e.g. paint all butter states from one base, reuse the same bowl layer); say so in the prompt record.
## 7. Output
For every task: the PNG (file name exactly as in the task) **and** a prompt record `<file-name-without-.png>.json`.
At the end: `report.txt`.
Prompt record (UTF-8 JSON):
```json
{
  "task": "C2",
  "file": "ing-egg-cracked.png",
  "sprite": "egg.cracked",
  "prompt": "<the exact full prompt(s) sent to the image model>",
  "references": ["ref-sprite-canvas.png", "style-sheet.png", "hands-reference.png"],
  "tool": "<image model / tool name and version>",
  "seed": "<seed if your tool has one, else null>",
  "attempts": 2,
  "postprocessing": "<background removal, edits, compositing, resizing, or 'none'>",
  "checks": { "size": "pass", "transparent": "pass", "no-text": "pass", "style": "pass", "aligned": "pass" },
  "date": "YYYY-MM-DD"
}
```
`report.txt` (plain text): one line per task, then notes:
```
C2 ing-egg-cracked.png: PASS | FAIL (<failed checks>) — <one line on what was done/decided>
STOPPED AFTER: <last finished group, if not all done>
NOTES: <decisions, tool limitations, questions for the team>
```
## 8. Upload API
All endpoints require `key={KEY}` as a query parameter (or the header `x-key: {KEY}`).
| Method | Path               | Body                                                                               | Result                          |
| ------ | ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| PUT    | `/api/file/{name}` | raw file bytes; set `content-type` (`image/png`, `application/json`, `text/plain`) | `{"saved":["{name}"]}`          |
| POST   | `/api/upload`      | `multipart/form-data`, one or more fields named `file` (filename = target name)    | `{"saved":[...]}`               |
| GET    | `/api/list`        | —                                                                                  | `[{"name","size","type","at"}]` |
| GET    | `/api/file/{name}` | —                                                                                  | the stored file                 |
- `{name}`: lowercase letters, digits and dashes, ending `.png`, `.json` or `.txt`; ≤ 20 MB.
- Re-uploading the same name replaces it (use this to fix an image).
- If you cannot make HTTP requests but can drive a browser, open `{BASE}/upload.html?key={KEY}` and upload there.
```
curl -X PUT -H "content-type: image/png" --data-binary @ing-egg-whole.png "{BASE}/api/file/ing-egg-whole.png?key={KEY}"
curl -X PUT -H "content-type: application/json" --data-binary @ing-egg-whole.json "{BASE}/api/file/ing-egg-whole.json?key={KEY}"
curl "{BASE}/api/list?key={KEY}"
```
## 9. Procedure
1. Download every file in `references/`.
2. For each task in group order (P0a, P0b, P0c, P0d):
   1. Take the task's ready prompt.
   2. Attach its reference and (from P0b on) `style-sheet.png` and `hands-reference.png`; for later states and
      frames also attach the earlier image of the same set (e.g. `ing-butter-cold.png` when making
      `ing-butter-soft.png`) so they line up.
   3. Generate; run every check (global rules + the task's checks); edit or regenerate until all pass (≤ 5
      attempts).
   4. Export at the exact size with the exact file name; write the prompt record.
   5. Upload the PNG and its `.json`; confirm with `/api/list`.
3. Write and upload `report.txt`.
4. Verify `/api/list` shows every file you produced with a non-zero size. Then stop.
